The Magnetic Hill
Perched at an altitude of 14000 feet above sea level, Magnetic Hill, is a place where curiosity touches its peak. The Magnetic Hill defies gravity and lies at a distance of 35 kms from Leh. It surprises the tourists with their cars moving upward at an average speed of 20 km/h when parked at the designated box. It is believed that the strong magnetic force coming out of the hills pulls the vehicles upwards. One also finds a Gurudwara at the Magnetic Hill which is maintained by the Indian Army. It is believed that Guru Nanak Dev meditated at this place in the 15th century.
