Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, located in the majestic mountains of Leh, is a testament to faith and resilience. This sacred site is significant in Sikh history because it commemorates the visit of Sikhism's founder, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, during his travels in the 15th century. According to legend, Guru Nanak Dev Ji thwarted the efforts of a malevolent demon who lived in the region by praying and spreading the message of love and peace. The large boulder, against which the demon threw a massive stone in an attempt to crush Guru Nanak Dev Ji, bears an imprint of his back, a miraculous sight that continues to astound visitors today. The Gurudwara itself exudes tranquility and spirituality, providing a peaceful respite from the hectic world below. Surrounded by breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and clear azure skies, it is an ideal retreat for both spiritual seekers and nature enthusiasts. Aside from its religious significance, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib stands as a symbol of communal harmony, welcoming devotees of all faiths with open arms. The langar, or community kitchen, provides free meals to all visitors, regardless of background, in accordance with Sikhism's principles of equality and service.
