Day 1 Arrival in Leh

Relax and Acclimatise
ladakh Icon Upon your early morning arrival at Leh Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our company representative and transferred to your accommodation in Leh. After check-in, spend the day resting and acclimatising to the high altitude of Ladakh. Take in the breathtaking mountain views and explore the local gardens. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

Day 2 Travel to Kargil

ladakh Icon After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Sham Valley, visiting notable sites such as the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam Point, Rafting Point, and Spituk Monastery. Hall of Fame: A must-visit for every patriotic Indian, built by the Indian Army in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in the Kargil War. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib: Located 40 km from Leh, constructed in 1571 in memory of Guru Nanak's visit to the region. Magnetic Hill: Witness the surreal experience of your car moving upwards on a steep slope with its engine turned off. Sangam Point: The confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers, offering a scenic view. Sham Valley: Also known as 'Apricot Valley', this area is home to some of the remotest villages in Ladakh. Spituk Monastery: A Buddhist monastery known for its giant Kali statue, built in the 11th century. In the evening, dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Kargil.

Day 3 Explore Kargil and Travel Back to Leh

Kargil – Leh | Kargil War Memorial | Layamaru Monastery | Moonland
ladakh Icon After breakfast, begin your drive towards Leh, making stops at the Lamayuru Monastery and Moonland along the way. Kargil War Memorial: Also known as the Dras War Memorial, this site was built by the Indian Army to commemorate the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. It is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D, about 5 km from the city center across from Tiger Hill. Lamayuru Monastery: One of the most renowned and magnificent monasteries in Ladakh, Lamayuru is considered the oldest monastic establishment in the region, founded by Rinchen Zangpo in the 10th century. Nestled amidst massive mountains, the monastery's spectacular setting, along with its renowned collection of carpets, thangkas, and frescoes, has attracted visitors from around the world for many years. After visiting these sites, continue your drive to Leh. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Leh.

Day 4 Explore Destinations

Leh – Disket – Hunder – Nubra (One Way – 140km, 5 hours by road)
ladakh Icon After breakfast, depart Leh and travel to Nubra Valley, famously known as the 'Valley of Flowers' for its diverse flora. The journey takes you over Khardung La Pass, the world's highest motorable road at 18,390 feet above sea level. The drive offers breathtaking landscapes and is a truly unforgettable experience. Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, visit the Disket Monastery to see the 100-foot Buddha statue. Optionally, enjoy a camel safari on Nubra’s resident double-humped camels in Hunder. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Nubra Valley.

Day 5 Travel to Turtuk

Nubra - Turtuk - Nubra
ladakh Icon After breakfast, commence your drive to Turtuk village. Turtuk, located in the Nubra Valley, is situated 80 km from Hunder on the banks of the Shyok River in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir. The village was under Pakistan's control until 1971, when India gained control of this strategic area. Geographically, Turtuk lies in the Baltistan Region and is one of four such villages in India, the others being Tyakshi, Chalunkha, and Thang. Predominantly a Muslim village, the residents speak Balti, Ladakhi, and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost in India before the Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan region begins and serves as one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier. After exploring Turtuk Village, return to Hunder village in Nubra. Overnight stay at a hotel. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Nubra.

Day 6 Travel to Pangong

Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake (One Way – 165 km, 6.5 hours by road)
ladakh Icon This itinerary features an adventurous drive through picturesque landscapes to the magnificent Pangong Lake, a highlight of your tour. This must-see destination in Ladakh gained fame from the movie 'Three Idiots.' Notably, more than half of Pangong Lake forms the border between India and China. The lake's waters are renowned for changing color with the angle of the sun, offering incredible photo opportunities. Remember to bring your camera and spare batteries. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Pangong.

Day 7 Travel to Thiksey

Pangong Lake - Thiksey - Shey – Leh (One Way – 140 km, 5 hours by road):
ladakh Icon Begin your morning with a stunning sunrise view over the beautiful Pangong Lake. Afterward, travel back to Leh, stopping at Thiksey Monastery along the way. Known as 'Little Lhasa,' Thiksey is a popular tourist destination due to its architectural resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. In the afternoon, take a short drive to visit the Shey Monastery and Palace, both built in 1655 as summer retreats for the reigning King. Return to Leh for a well-deserved rest, with the evening free for exploring the local market at your leisure. Return to Leh in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8 Embark with Cherishing Memories

Departure from Leh

  • Monument entrance fees (varies based on personal preference).
  • Optional tour guide: 2000 INR per day (recommended for all foreign clients)
  • Optional dune buggy/camel safari (price dependent on duration).
  • Optional rafting/mountain biking/bullet bike.
  • Optional hire of an oxygen cylinder: 750 INR per cylinder per day.
  • Any changes/cancellations/expenses due to flight/train/bus delays.
  • Any costs arising from ‘Acts of God’ including landslides, road blockages, terrorist activities, and political disturbances. Costs are to be borne by the client directly.
Important Instructions:
  • Child Accommodation Policy • Children aged 5 and below: Complimentary. • Children aged 11 and above: Extra bed charges apply.
  • Ladakh is a high-altitude region, and mild symptoms of altitude sickness are common. Consult your doctor before travel and consider taking Diamox (or similar medication). We schedule a full day of rest upon arrival, and our guides are equipped to handle altitude-related emergencies. Standard medications are available in Leh but bring any specific prescriptions.
  • Prepaid Indian SIM cards do not work in Ladakh. Postpaid services with BSNL, Airtel, and Aircel are operational. Use internet-based services such as Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook, or email. Free WiFi is available in most hotels, and internet cafes are in the main bazaar, though power failures can occur.Popular items include authentic pashmina shawls, hand-woven rugs, locally made woolen clothing, trekking gear, traditional pots, Tibetan handicrafts, and Ladakhi jewelry.
  • Arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure for security checks.
  • Itinerary changes may occur due to hotel availability without altering the total number of days or compromising services.
  • Vehicles are non-air-conditioned and available trip-wise within municipal limits.
  • Follow program timings; missed services due to delays are non-refundable.
  • Hotels are subject to availability; alternatives will be provided if necessary.
  • Prepaid numbers do not work in Jammu and Kashmir; postpaid numbers do.
  • Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir).
  • Electricity is available from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm in Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake.
