Nestled 11 km from Pahalgam, Aru Valley is the base camp for trekking to the Kolahoi Glacier and the Tarsar-Marsar Lakes and Herbaghwan Lake. It is also a base for the treks to Lidderwat, the Vishansar-Kishansar lakes. People throng at this place because of its meadows, pristine lakes and mountains. Since the place receives heavy snowfall in Winter, skiing and heliskiing are the major activities done during this period. Aru Valley is also a dream place for trekkers as it is a base camp for many treks around.
Best Time to Visit
April to September for green lovers and December to February for snow lovers.
Ideal Duration
1 day for Aru Valley but if one wants to go for trekking, more time is required.
