With its stunning natural beauty, Than Pir is a charming destination tucked away in the peaceful hills of Poonch district. Approximately 37 kilometres east of Poonch, on top of the ridge is a very picturesque meadow. This station has a very cool, pleasant summer climate. Another draw for this natural area is the vibrant tribal life that surrounds Ziarat Than Pir and the meadow. This location has a lot of potential for scenic tourism and could be developed into an amazing resort. The panoramic view of Suran Valley, Mandi, Poonch, and Toli Pir in POK is amazing from this elevated location. The shrine is surrounded by a stunning verdant pasture. In addition to its religious significance, this is one of Poonch District's most picturesque locations that could be developed for tourism. November marks the grand annual Urs celebration organised by the Army and the civil society organisation Poonch.
