Tucked away in the center of Jammu's Reasi district is the alluring Dera Baba Banda. Dera Baba Banda, which can be traced back to the revered Sikh saint Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, is of great cultural significance. It is a significant Sikh and Hindu pilgrimage site that honours Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, a well-known Sikh warrior and disciple of Guru Gobind Singh. On the banks of the Chenab River, where Baba Banda spent his last days in meditation and service, is the location of the Gurudwara. Guru Gobind Singh gave Baba Banda a sword and an arrow, which are kept in the Gurudwara. In addition, there is a museum containing artefacts from the past such as swords, murals, and Sikh flags. Devotees and tourists from all over the world are drawn to Dera Baba Banda because of its colorful festivals and religious ceremonies. These events, which range from colorful processions to traditional music and dance performances, highlight the region's rich cultural legacy. Dera Baba Banda receives about 30,000 pilgrims annually, most of whom come for the three-day Vaishakhi mela in April.
