Located in the centre of the Jammu district, the Har Ki Pauri Temple is a timeless representation of heritage and devotion. With a rich history spanning centuries, this sacred site is deeply ingrained in the hearts of both pilgrims and locals. "Har" literally translates to "Lord Shiva," "ki" to "of," and "pauri" to "steps." In addition, the enormous idols of all the Gods and Goddesses showcase an audacious feat of building completed on the banks of the Tawi River. Upon entering the temple complex, one is immediately struck by the enormous statues, which are revered as gigantic symbols. The Har Ki Pauri Temple in Jammu is divided into three sections. The river bank, named Ganga Ghat, although the river is Tawi. The first section features a magnificent idol of Ganesh ji atop the temple roof, visible from afar. It also houses a shrine of Chamunda Devi, alongside other deities like Surya, Dharma, and Santoshi. The second section boasts a big idol of Hanuman and is known as "Rameswar," with a central Shiv Linga surrounded by smaller ones. Shrines of Ram, Lakshman, and Hanuman are also present. The third section, Char Dham, hosts a big idol of Vasudeva and other shrines like Mansa Devi & Ganesha, Puri style Krishna-Baldev-Subhadra, Tirupati Balaji, and many more.
