For those who wish to honor Lord Shiva, the Chote Amarnath Cave is the primary draw. According to legend, this cave offers a more modest but no less revered version of the famous Amarnath Yatra. The sound of old prayers reverberates throughout the calm atmosphere that greets you as soon as you enter. The cave's architecture is simple but breathtaking, and its organic formations lend it a mysterious atmosphere. Within is a naturally occurring lingam, a symbol of Lord Shiva thought to be a manifestation of divine energy. Chote Amarnath is a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts as well as a place of spirituality.
