The relationship between Nishat Garden and the well-known Mughal Emperor Jahangir, who was known to visit the garden during his reign, is an intriguing fact about the garden. He was reportedly so taken by its beauty that he gave it the name "Nishat Bagh," which translates to "Garden of Joy." Emperor Shah Jahan, upon seeing Nishat Garden's beauty in 1633, hoped his father-in-law Asif Khan would gift it to him. When this didn't happen, Shah Jahan, jealous, cut off the water supply, leaving the garden deserted. Asif Khan's servant secretly restored the water, fearing Shah Jahan's wrath. Surprisingly, Shah Jahan admired the servant's loyalty and restored the water rights to Asif Khan. The garden holds Mughal Princess Zuhra Begum's tomb, adding to its historical significance.
