An engineering marvel that is a tribute to human ingenuity, the magnificent Chenab Railway Bridge is situated in Jammu's Reasi district, amidst picturesque landscapes. This magnificent construction spans the powerful Chenab River. Currently under construction, the world's tallest railway bridge is the 1,315-meter-long and 359-meter-high Chenab Rail Bridge. It is a component of the bigger, ambitious project to link the Kashmir Valley to the Indian Railways' main rail network. It is designed as an iconic arch bridge. An essential connection in the Northern Railway's Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla section is the Chenab bridge. The newly constructed 111-kilometer route between Katra and Banihal will link the Kashmir region with the rest of India. The Chenab rail bridge is built to withstand high-intensity blasts, 266 km/h winds, and zone-V earthquakes. The bridge, which cost INR 1,486 crore (about USD 190 million) to build, will last for 120 years. Over 1,300 laborers and 300 civil engineers worked nonstop to finish the arch bridge. The Chenab Railway Bridge is significant historically and culturally in addition to being useful. It is a monument to the unwavering spirit of those who dreamed up and constructed it, overcoming hardships with unwavering resolve.
