Purmandal and Utterbahni

Two quaint towns rich in history and culture are Purmandal and Utterbehni, which are snuggled away in the tranquil surroundings of Jammu's Samba district. Purmandal, also referred to as ‘Chhota Kashi’ is famous for Lord Shiva ancient temples. The river Devika here, as its name would imply, turns and flows northward, which is unusual for rivers worldwide. Maharaja Gulab Singh constructed the Gadadhar temple here in 1850.
